Future Traditions Fest is back!

Join us for 3 days of performances, films, and workshops highlighting experimental Latine artists working with music, video, sound, and more.

FRIDAY Sept 27 at Nepantla - 1209i East Cesar Chavez St

Experimental Video Showcase

curated by C. Diaz (RGV) + sounds by Pinche Juan. *note that this event is NOT at Dadalab

6PM to 9PM

“Identity, sacredness, ternura, outsider narratives, quir futures y las raíces del pasado all intersect to reveal an outward manifestation of internalized experience. This is what makes experimental cinema special. It’s a genre that defies convention in search of truth. Within this space we are encouraged to play and share the parts of ourselves that cannot be labeled or reigned in. Similar to the vastness of this genre, Latine culture and art expand across many experiences, disciplines, and articulations. Our work is not monolithic, yet there is an unspoken universal thread found throughout. The films in this program are windows into worlds unseen, dreamscapes and fantasies, a nostalgia that cannot be placed. It’s a rare occasion to gather such varied voices and approaches to share with an audience, so I am extremely grateful to Jeannelle Ramírez, Natalia Rocafuerte and the team at Future Traditions for creating a space to celebrate these works. May they ignite your spirit and recalibrate perceptions of Latine artists, culture and diaspora”

-C. Díaz, Curator & Filmmaker
